The club is a Social and Dance Club and many people who stop by on Thursday Evenings, do not know much about dancing or the Carolina Shag in particular. At 7:00 club members will teach the Shag Basic and a Female Turn so that anyone can be on the floor and start to enjoy themselves in 15 minutes or so. We run a full set of beginner classes at the YWCA in Brunswick and some Basic Plus and Intermediate steps with guest instructors at Ziggy's. 2012 will mark the 22nd Annual Shag-A-Ganza party in conjunction with the 30th year of the Jekyll Island Beach Music Festival . Again the Golden Isles Shag Club is part of the planning which this year brings in the Carolina Beach Music Association as the main promoter of the evening events.

Of course you want to know what this will cost - $55/Person for the full event which covers all three nights, the Beach Blast and all the dance workshops, free to purchasers of the full weekend pass!
For some people work and family committments prevent attendance for the full time, you will find that you can purchase daily passes for $20/person and pay $10/person for any dance workshop you might select. Clearly the weekend pass is good value if you like Bands, Dancing and Workshops.
