"Goin'to the Dogs" Party ~ Sat, March 13th.
The Golden Isles Shag Club (GISC) will hold it's "Goin' to the Dogs" Pot Luck dinner in support of the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia on March 13th. Wayne Bennett the club DJ will host the party which starts at 5:30. Everyone is requested to bring packages of dog and cat food or cash for donation to the shelter. Following the Buffet Supper dancing will start about 7:00. The Club invites members to bring guest, and we will be happy to entertain other shag dancers who are also in the area.
Shag-A-Ganza ~ Latest Planning News
The contract with the Clarion Oceanfront resort have been reviewed with the Resort Management. They have converted and totally renovated many of their units to 2 bedroom villas which will rent for $180 a night for Shag-A-Ganza, making it more affordable and pleasant for 2 couples to stay. The GISC board will meet on the the 9th to review the event schedule and budget. The DJ's are set with Fessa' John Hook from North Myrtle Beach and Mike Harding from Greensboro NC. After board review the Shag-A-Ganza section of the site will start to detail out more information and registration.
Jekyll Island Beach Music Festival ~ Latest
The Golden Isles Shag Club has been working with the Jekyll Island Authority on the planning and selection of bands for this years Beach Music Festival, August 21-22. The contracts are now signed with the bands and this year 4 top bands will be appearing. The bands are The Band of Oz, Tommy Black and BLOOZ with Christine Cooper, The Craig Woolard Band and the well liked local favorite the Swinging Medallions. As the event planning becomes firm the side menu link to the Beach Music Festival page will carry the details as they become available.
