It is ReUp Time, so we get to Pay Annual Dues for another year. This is also when we bring into full paid membership those people who have joined us in the las year, either from our classes at the YWCA or because they moved into the area.
Low Country Boil @ MudCat Charlies
One of the most fun club parties, because its early summer, warm, and a classic low country boil feast to look forward to. People not from the region don't know what it is, but once they try it they come back for more. Go to the Club Calendar for full information and directions to MudCat Charlies.
Ganza 21 & Beach Music Festival
Last year the club decided to morph Shag-A-Ganza in with the Jekyll Island Beach Music Festival. In 2011 we will kick off Shag-A-Ganza #21 on Thursday evening the 11th August, and then move smoothly into 3 more days activity with many dance workshop, 5 live bands and close it out with a Gospel Hour on Sunday Morning. Oyster Roast @ Bill & Donita's
This is an eagerly awaited event every fall. Bill and men from the club erect the tent over the wooden dance floor and prepare the firepits and grills for the roast. The ladies prepare the food, Wayne get his music and speakers together. Out in the woods where Bill and Donita live, the neighbors are tolerant of a little fun, noise and good times, in fact a few have come over and joined in.
Christmas Party @ The Elks Club
We go the Elks Cub for our Christmas Party where we have a great dance floor with enogh space for 40 or 50 people to dance at one time. We kick the party of with the elction of the coming years GISC Officers and Board. Sumptuous Hors Douvres, Classy Covered Dishes and Delectable Deserts follow the election. Time to dance, and the DJ for the evening start us of slowly while we digest. Then the real dancing starts and the party get into high gear as the Door Prozes are awarded.
