Jimmy Stevenson has agreed to fill spot of the board created when Ron Mays moved to TX. He is aware that next board meeting will be held at Ziggy's on Sept 11 at 6:30 p.m. Please add him to your distribution list for board members.

Sand Gnat Chairman Tom Holmes reports ticket sales for The Gnat are around 150 with additional guests anticipated. Kick-off party on Thursday, June 12th will be at Ziggy's 7pm until close. Don't forget advanced shag lessons with T.K. and Mary on Friday, 4:30PM. Costs $5.00 per person. Also, t-shirts for The Gnat are available at a cost of $12.00. Contact Judy Bennett if you want one before the kick-off party.

George Ratliff's 85th birthday was celebrated with club members at Ziggy's. All the ladies danced with George as we enjoyed great food and refreshments. We appreciate having such a great person as a member of GISC.

Monthly party at Mudcat's saw about 50 members enjoy great low country boil meal with music by Terry Holt. A fun time was had by all.

Judy Bennett, Charter Member of GISC has been awarded a Shagging Icon Award from the Association of Carolina Shag Clubs for 2008.Judy will be presented with her award at the ACSC meeting in April at SOS. Look for her picture in the Carefree Times in April.The Shagging Icon Award is presented to five shag club members yearly, to members who have contributed to the growth and prosperity of the club at the local level. Congratulations to Judy and a special thanks to Phyllis Buffkin, who nominated Judy, and to Larry Roundtree, Frances Burgess, and Sonny Anderson who supported the nomination of Judy.
